The Sikad-Lakad-Takbo, originally known as SILAKBO para sa Kalikasan, is a fund raising activity for the Save Silang-Santa Rosa River Foundation, Inc. (S3R2), a non-profit organization and partner of the City Government of Santa Rosa in the protection and rehabilitation of the Santa Rosa Watershed. SILAKBO aims to promote environmental awareness among the various stakeholders in the watershed.

The Santa Rosa Watershed with an area of 11, 500 hectares is the major source of water for the cities of Santa Rosa and BiƱan and the municipalities of Cabuyao and Silang in Cavite.

Based on the study conducted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines), the Santa Rosa Watershed will experience water shortage few years from now due to abrupt water abstraction. This alarming scenario has made SILAKBO, now on its 4th year, be called as the SILAKBO for the Santa Rosa Watershed. It aims to gather at least 2, 000 environmental-driven participants from the City and nearby municipalities.

What are we all waiting for; let us join hands to save the Santa Rosa Watershed! Please be there at The Fields NUVALI on April 22, 2012! Register Now!
